Australian Geothermal Energy Association (AGEA)      ...... more

AGEA, formed in November 2007, is the national association for the Australian geothermal energy industry. Green Rock Energy is a founding member of AGEA with representation on the main steering and policy committees.

AGEA and its members work with all Australian Governments, the academic community, relevant scientific organisations and the media to promote information about the progress of the industry and its capabilities. 

AGEA seeks to assist Government develop prudent policy mechanisms that enable geothermal energy to increase its penetration of the national energy market in line with climate change and energy security policy goals.

 

Australian Geothermal Energy Group (AGEG)     ...... more

AGEG was formed in 2006 to assist the exploration the exploration and development of geothermal energy in Australia and to provide financial and intellectual support for Australia's membership of the International Energy Agency-Geothermal Implementing Agreement. Green Rock Energy is a founding member and is supporting research being conducted by AGEG

Members of AGEG include representatives from companies with entitlements to undertake geothermal exploration, appraisal, demonstration and development projects in Australia.   AGEG is also represented by Government agencies responsible for investment attraction and licence regulation for the geothermal sector and University experts conducting relevant research.

 

WA Geothermal Centre of Excellence 

Formed in February 2008, the Centre comprises three participants:

  • The University of Western Australia;
  • CSIRO; and
  • Curtin University of Technology.

As the Centre's principal sponsor, Green Rock Energy is working with the University of Western Australia and the Geothermal Centre of Excellence to evaluate the potential of the West Australian geothermal exploration permits which the Company applied for during the year. 

Green Rock Energy entered into a research collaboration agreement with the centre in 2010.

 

International Energy Agency-Geothermal Implementing Agreement ...... more

Green Rock Energy is a sponsor member of the Geothermal Implimenting Agreement (GIA)

The GIA provides an important framework for wide-ranging international cooperation in geothermal research and development.  Its activities presently cover global research into environmental impacts of geothermal development, enhanced geothermal systems, advanced geothermal drilling technology and direct use of geothermal energy.

 

 Association of Mining Exploration Companies (AMEC)

Green Rock Energy is a member and Adrian Larking is a councillor of AMEC which represents  Australian small to mid-tier exploration companies.
